Cooperation with home organizations |
SONCE has a close cooperation with HCRA Mesecina from Gostivar. Bothorganizations work on issues concerning Roma, especially in Tetovo and Gostivar where the conditions are similar and geographically are very close. In some of the priorities the organizations coincide. Both organizations on education, integration, minority rights of the Roma, etc.; however, they work with a different approach. The cooperation is excellent and is being manifested through an exchange of ideas, capacities, resources, activities, etc. Also, the organizations consult each other, inform each other, they present together in front of other organizations and structures and they support each other in their work.
The cooperation lasts for a long time and both organizations paralelly build their capacities and are established as one of the more developed in the Roma and the NGO sector in general. This cooperation should continue in the future, but also to be even more improved.
„Daja“ is a woman's organization in Kumanovo which has a longlasting experience on the issues of Roma women. With an intention to expand its activities and to comprise althe Roma women in the other cities, „ Daja “ often contacts SONCE where it administers activities for the Roma women in Tetovo. SONCE emerges as an organizator of logistics and contacts the Roma women in Tetovo in order to motivate them to take part in these activities.
With this, SONCE contributes for the benefits of the activities administered by „ Daja “ for strengthening the Roma women.
„Luludi“ is an organization from Skopje which works on activities concerning women and youth. Principally, it works for the protection of the rights of Roma women, against family violence, on the health needs of the women, as well as, the education of Roma women and children. The cooperation with SONCE is again connected to the activities which "Luludi" organizaes for the Roma women and youth. In this way, SONCE again emerges as a logistic support and a link with the Roma women and youth from Tetovo for the realization of some activities of "Luludi". Besides this, SONCE often shares information with "Luludi" and gives advices for improving the work of "Luludi" which is a very young organization.
PPC is again an organization from Gostivar. Unlike the previous ones, this organization works principally in the area of ecology. As a second priority of PPC is the development of the democratic society and the multiethnic relationships.
PPC is a multiethnic organization. The cooperation of SONCE with PPC is manifested through an exchange of ideas, information, consultations, etc.
Some of the members in SONCE are members of the Advising body of PPC, and in this way they take part in creating the program of PPC. The organizations support eachother in the presentations in front of the other organizations and structures.
RHAM Sun became a member of this network at the very beginning of its formation. After the acceptance of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, this network had a designed mission to influence the processes of improvement of the interethnic relations and enhancement of the capacities of the member organizations. Sun was in the group of the first 20 organizations that signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and as the only member organization from Tetovo had the responsibility to form the membership of the ECMI Regional Centre Tetovo. During the first year Sun coordinated the work of the RC Tetovo and in the next years actively participated in the building of the policies and programmes of the Network. Through this Network, for the needs of the membership Sun organized a training for preparation of a shadow report to the Framework Convention for protection of National Minorities, and during 2003 / 2004 coordinated the process of work of the Working Group for Minority Issues that submitted an official Shadow Report on the Situation of National Minorities in Republic of Macedonia to the Council of Europe. Also, with the funds of this Network Sun implemented a project called Community Dialogue and Capacity Building, in which a dialogue was initiated among the local institutions, business sector, media, and the NGO sector.
During 2004 the ECMI NGO Network prepared a strategic plan for the sustainability of the network, for which Sun had an active role. As a result of this strategic plan the network Society Development Initiatives – SDI was formed as a certain continuation of the ECMI NGO Network. Sun is an organization that actively participates and will continue to participate in this cooperation in which over 70 organizations are joined to act together for resolving the problems of the citizens in Republic of Macedonia.
