To provide current free educational and administrative support for the Roma community

Free training courses for working with a computer and languages for the Roma youth. Creative workshops for dance, drama, etc. Administrative support for the Roma community.

14. We are all under one Sun, 1
  Implementation period december 2002- february 2003
  Location Tetovo, Macedonia
  Target group Young Roma and youth from other nacionality
  Aims To overcome the barriers in the communication between the youth from different ethnic background.
  Activities
A tribune was organized where the youth discussed about the barriers and the obsticles in their communication with the other ethnic communities and about the ways in which they can be overcome. Also, a theater performance was organized with the title „We are all under one Sun“ in which, in a symbolic way, was presented the tolerance among the youth.

16. A training for preparing the alternative report on FCPNM

  Location Macedonia
  Target group Representatives from NGOs and the NGO network for improving the interethnic relations in Macedonia which work on minority issues.
  Aims The representatives of NGOs which work on miroty issues to build in and upgrade their knowledge for the international mechanisams for protection and promotion of the minority issues and to receive skills for preparing the alternative report for РКНМ in the Council of Europe
  Activities
A training for the representatives of the NGOs who work on minority issues was organized and held. The trainers were representatives of the Council of Europe.

17 . Working group for minority issues
  Implementation period november 2003 - march 2004
  Location Macedonia
  Target group The direct target was the Council of Europe, while the indirect target group were the home actors which work on issues regarding minorities, particularly, the minorities in Macedonia.
  Aims To inform the home and the international public for the situation of the national minorities in Macedonia in the direction of improving the situations.
  Activities
A working group for minority issues was formed consisting of representatives of the 6 greatest ethnic communities in Macedonia. By using the information in the NGO network for improving the interethnic relations, the group had formed an alternative report for Рамковната Конвенција за Заштита на Националните Малцинства. The report was sent to the Council of Europe in order to be used for understanding the real situation of the minorities in Macedonia, to adopt a resolution which will be in the direction of improving the situation.

18. Translation of the UN Manual for Minorities in Albanian and Macedonian
  Implementation period january - april 2004
  Location Tetovo, Macedonia
  Target group Citizens' organization and state institutions in Macedonia which work on minority issues.
  Aims To provide detailed and practical information for protection and promotion of teh minority rights through the mechanisms of the UN for citizens' organizations and the state institutions in Macedonia in an understandable language.
  Activities

The UN Manual for Minorities contains informations for the mechanisms and the bodies of the UN and the other international structures for protection and promotion of the minority rights. This amnual was translated into Albanian and Macedonian. Then, it was published in a hard and an electronic version and was sent by mail and distributed to the citizens' organizations and the state institutions in Macedonia.

19. Dialogue of the community for strengthening capacities
  Implementation period march - june 2004
  Location Tetovo, Macedonia
  Целна група 50 representatives from the three sectors: citizen, state, and economic in Tetovo
  Aims To builf up a common platform for mutual work of the three sectors in Tetovo in order to address the teh needs of the local community. To achieve a formal contract for mutual work.
  Activities
The project started with the promotion of the activities and invitations for cooperation to the three sectors. After the group of representatives from all the sectors was formed the cycle of seminars had started. Through the seminar the group had built a plan for working on the needs of the local community and received a training for management.

20. Distribution of the UN Manual for Minorities in Albania and Kosovo
  Implementation period september-november 2004
  Location Kosovo, Albania
  Target group Citizens' organiations and institutions from Kosovo and Albania who work with minorities.
  Aims The target group to receive detailed and practical information for promotion and protection of the minority rights in an understandable language.
  Activities
The already translated and published UN Manual for Minorities was distributed in the offices of the partner organizations in Kosovo and Albania. These offices sent the manual by mail to the citizens' organizations and institutions which work with minorities. The cooperation with ADI in this case was used.

21. New Year's Performance2004
  Implementation period december 2004
  Location Tetovo, Macedonia
  Target group Roma children - participants in the performance, the audience during the performance (all ethnic communities, ages, social status)
  Aims To promote the traditional and the moder culture and folklore of the Roma in front of the public audience in Tetovo and to mark teh New Year 2005 with a message for tolerance and mutual understanding
  Activities
Preparation of the theater performance by the young members of SONCE - preparation of acting, music, literary and other; preparation of the scene, coreography, etc. Organizing the performance: media promotion, invitations for the audience, providing logistics, providing space, etc. The theater performance was held.
